The choice of the company name “Gabbro” and brand name “Sandstone” were both inspired by our love for nature. At the time of drilling our deep borehole, we encountered various rock formations including gabbro and sandstone. Gabbro is a type of ingenious, hard rock which forms part of the various rocky outcrops in the Busoga region. Sandstone is a porous rock that allows ground water filtration.  “Sandstone” and “Nhenda” are Gabbro Limited trademarks.  Nhenda means “I want/need” but is also a name of a rocky outcrop outside of Iganga town and a few kilometers from Gabbro Park, traditionally referred to as a site of great historical significance to the people of Busoga region.
